Tanzania Football Young Hopes. Will This Generation Succeed In Europe?
Football is prevalent in Tanzania and Africa as a whole. There is so much raw talent on display in the Tanzanian football league with several football prodigies waiting for a chance to prove themselves to scouts from all over Europe and the world in general. Who is going to come out the next big thing out of the fold?
Tanzania has been able to produce star players over the years, including Mbwana Samatta playing for Aston Villa, Mhando Carte Said playing for Fano in Italy, and Simon Msuva. He plays for Difaâ El Jadida in Morocco. The Tanzanian football side has never been able to qualify for the FIFA world. Would this vibrant youth side be able to take us there? We’ll have to wait and see.
The 17-year-old sensation was born and bred in the Morogoro region in Tanzania. Being born on the 10 of June 2003, Kelvin is one of the youngest players making waves in the Tanzanian national football team where he plays as a forward. According to his coach Mbaki Mutahaba, he is expected to make a star move to the Belgium side, Genk F.C., early 2021.
He has been reported to have undergone trials for Genk F.C, where he did well, so we can expect the move to pull through smoothly. Kelvin John is noted as a sharp forward, resilient for his age with an eye for goal, and a very dangerous dominant right foot. He scored one goal and made three assists during his time with the Tanzanian u-17. Mbwana Samatta is reportedly mentoring him so we can expect even more improvement in his gameplay.
Born on the 20th of February 1992, Yussuf is known fondly as Adi Yussuf and plays for Boreham Wood, on loan from Blackpool. He is a striker and has managed to score over 66 senior goals in his career. Yussuf is not a youngster per say, but there are rumors that he is linked with some premier league clubs. We must say we are excited to see the possibilities. Yussuf made his debut for the Tanzanian national football team in June 2019 in a friendly against
Zimbabwe and has gone on to represent his nation at the 2019 Africa cup of nations. He started his career at the Leicester city academy before going on to play for multiple clubs in Europe, including Licon city F.C, blackpoll F.C, and Oxford City, where he scored 27 goals in one season.
Farida is known fully as Faridi Malik Mussa Shaha and is a winger who plays currently for CD Tenerife B. He is presently 24 years old and started his footballing career at Azam F.C in Tanzania. During his time here, he was scouted by CD Tenerife B, a second division side in Spain. He was born on the 21st of June 1996 in Morogoro, Tanzania. He has gotten 21 caps for the Tanzanian national team as of July 2020.
At 5ft 3in, he is relatively short for a football player, but this gives him an edge when it comes to building up plays due to the fact that he is fast and can maneuver himself around the opposition defense during runs. He plays as a left-winger, and there are links currently tying him to a move up the Spanish football ladder. Probably to a top tier la Liga team, we hope so.
Ally Hamis Ng'anzi was born on the 3rd of September 2000 in Mwanza Tanzania. He currently plays for plays as a midfielder for Loudoun United in the USL Championship, the second division side to the MLS (Major league soccer) in the U.S. he has played for both the under-17 and under-20 factions of the Tanzanian national team raking up 11 appearances in total. At 19 there is so much to be expected from this young man although he has not quite hit the ground running in the U.S recently he seems to be picking up form.
If his form back home in Tanzania is anything to go by, we should expect Ally to grow into a phenomenal football force, probably one of the best to come out from Tanzania. Currently, he wears the number 6 shirt at Loudoun united and is based primarily in the central midfield. He had a short stint at Czech football third division side Vyškov F.C in 2018 before a move to the MLS in 2019 as a player for Minnesota united F.C.
He has been called up to the Under-23 Tanzanian side already and is expected to make waves. At almost 20, there is a lot of time for Ally to develop his game and move to some of the best clubs in Europe.
Vital is a classic example of an African player choosing to represent another country outside Africa. Vital has dual citizenship as a Tanzanian and an American. He was born on the 1st of January 1997 and plays as a midfielder for Madison F.C in the USL league one in the U.S. He started his youth career at the Madison College Wolfpack football team, and at 23 years has gone on to represent the Forward Madison and Madison 56ers on a senior level although making no appearance in each team.
At this stage, Vital is not too late to make a switch and play for the Tanzanian football side, but only time will tell. Bearing in mind that a Tanzanian player will always be a Tanzanian, we wish him good luck and expect only the best from him.
